Tips for Creating an Online Business

Welcome!

Hello! My name is Ronald Kealey and I am here today to help teach you the ways of creating an online business that will hopefully make you a profit! I must let you know, though, that I too am learning how to do such a process... This is one of the first websites I have created. I've done a few blogs in the past and other things here and there on the web, but this one is going to be a little more serious and complex.

When I say complex don't be scared... All I mean by that is this website will be much more intricate and have more detailed options available to you than other sites, such as blogs. I'm going to try to make this as simple as possible for you, yet teach valuable information that you can use to your advantage... So let's get started!

I've done extensive research on how to create a website: I've joined blogs like wordpress, I've become a member of some sites where they teach you similar ideas, and looked at articles on this subject. After the knowledge I have gained from visiting those sites online, I feel I am now ready to start my own. But before I jump into the steps involved for making your online website, I first want to let you know that this will not be an over-the-night process. I started back in mid September of 2010 of doing research and joining blogs and such, and am still making small changes for the better of this website and improvements needed to stay updated with technology.

How long will this "process" take? Well that is a difficult question to answer... It was actually one of my first questions I wanted to know immediately when I started the online career. But it's difficult to answer because everyone has their own unique abilities and skills which help them in the respectful areas throughout life. If one of those skills for you is technology based, and you are computer savvy then that's a huge plus! And for those of you who aren't very familiar with the computer or how the internet works within its business content, then no worries... I will show you every step of the way on how to create a website and get it up and running and hopefully make money for you someday.

To answer the above question though, this process could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to a full year, maybe even some more time... I'm not sure how fast you will be working, how many hours a day, etc... But first things first, to start it off you will need motivation. That is key here! Motivation for making a website isn't something you can buy off a shelf at a retail store. No, it's something you must find within yourself and ask 'Is this what I really want to do at this moment?' If your answer is "yes," then great! Lets get started A.S.A.P. But if you answered "no," I'm afraid you need to choose between one of two options:

Option 1. You stop this process now before it gets too overwhelming and you become very frustrated.

Option 2. You convince yourself that you are able to acheive this goal and continously remind yourself this is a process that will take longer than anticipated... Also you must commit to the process.

OK, now that we have the motivational part figured out, lets move on to the next step of the process of creating a website... And that is Education: You must educate your mind on the web and weekly changes that are being made everytime you log on... You must know simple but sometimes confusing "tech-savvy" ways of getting around on the computer. What do I mean by that? Well, let's take Facebook for example. When it first launched, it was very simple and easy to use, at least for me I found it fairly easy. But then as time progressed and as more and more people joined, it seemed to become more complex. The social networking website owners added more content to it, making it more difficult to use... Which I did not like they made those changes. And I know I'm not the only one.

The most recent change Facebook did was added a "side-bar" for the chat box on the right hand side of the page. If you have a Facebook account you probably know what I'm talking about. And the thing I dislike about it is that you can't tell everyone who is online at the time. You cannont scroll down through the list of online friends like you could previous to the update. If you wish to comment on this subject, please leave a post in the FAQ's page tab above and let me know your thoughts.

Anyways, this website isn't going to be about Facebook... Although I know some of you love it, you might be disappointed to find that this website is not a social networking site. No, what this website it designed for is to help the average entreprenuer to become more indepedent during his/her journey and have the tools they need to create a website and turn it into a business. This site will teach you instructions that are related to website building techniques, the way the consumers are attracted to a particular website, the type of software you will want to use, etc...

I want to stay at a nice tempo to make sure there is an even balance for those who are already well equipped for the computer journey, vs. those who are complete new-comers to the idea. I will be teaching things step-by-step, detailed and thorough on exactly how to create your first online website. You will also be taught how to publish a website to make it officially online for the world to view, and then finally, how to make an income through your website!

So the following points are neccessities that are a must in creating your online website/business:

•A hosting account: Some websites offer these for free and some more fancy websites offer these for a small price (something around $10-$25/month) A hosting account is something that basically "hosts," or provides, your website with services to the World Wide Web... In other words, it allows you to publish you website and make it official online so everyone can access it.

•A domain name: Which is simply a title/name of your website such as http://www.YourSitesNameHere.com/. You can buy a domain name at sites like GoDaddy.com.

•This is NOT a neccessity if you are brand new and just want to learn how everything works... But if you want to start an online business, this is a must:

•An Autoresponder: This feature is also available for a small price per month (Like $5-$20/month) An autoresponder is just like what it is named for: an automatic responder to emails. So in other words, it sends out emails automatically to each and every customer you may have who subscribed to your newsletter. This is a nice feature to have if you don't have the time to manually send out emails and keep track of how many you send out... This allows you to write whatever you wish in an email, and then the autoresponder sends the message to all subscribers.

And that's all the necessities you should have for your online business. But keep in mind there is more to the puzzle than just those three things. I'll mention those other pieces soon to come. Check out my intro video and other video tutorials in the mean time (But first... Become a member! It's free!)
